well its better to start with more simple layouts to get a feeling for it.
And I for example am always thinking of the layout first before making the design using Photoshop.

I'm doing good, we are almost ready to launch, maybe another 2 weeks or so...Currently submissions are down, we are re-organizing things, but otherwise very excited!
